The New Orleans Oil and Hazardous Substance Area Committee consists of Regional, State, Local, non-governmental agencies and organization representatives interested in improving oil and hazardous substance spill response in the New Orleans Coastal Areas.
The Committee's goals is to ensure highest level of preparedness to oil and hazardous substance incidents in the New Orleans area as intended by the Clean Water Act section 311(j).
The objectives of the Committee are to communicate planning with local stakeholders in alignment with regional guidance to protect human health, environment, and economies during an oil and/ or hazardous substance release/discharge.
