The Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Scientific Committee (SC) is chartered to advise the Secretary of the Interior, through the Director, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), on the feasibility, appropriateness, and scientific value of the BOEM's OCS Environmental Studies Program (ESP).
Members are appointed by the Secretary of the Interior based on their scientific competence, reputation within their field of expertise, and ability to evaluate important elements of BOEM's research and science information efforts.
Official Committee Records: Past meeting proceedings and other OCS SC documentation are available for public review and access.
Subcommittee Reports: The OCS SC utilizes subcommittees to look at issues in-depth and provide recommendations to the full Committee.
