Meeting - National Offshore Safety Advisory Committee (NOSAC)

The National Offshore Safety Advisory Committee (NOSAC) and its Commercial Diving Safety on the Outer Continental Shelf Subcommittee will meet 4/7/15 and 4/8/15, in New Orleans, LA to discuss the safety of operations and other matters affecting the offshore oil and gas industry. These meetings are open to the public.

Location Details:
The Commercial Diving Subcommittee will meet 4/7/15 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and the full NOSAC will meet 4/8/15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Subcommittee meeting will be in the Bacchus B Conference Room and the full Committee will meet in the Bacchus Conference Room.

Meeting Agenda - Day 1:
The Commercial Diving Subcommittee will review, discuss and formulate recommendations for a final report on commercial diving safety.

Meeting Agenda - Day 2:
The full Committee will review and discuss Subcommittee progress, reports and recommendations received from the Commercial Diving Subcommittee.
  • Current Business: Presentation and discussion of a final report
    and included recommendations from the Commercial Diving Subcommittee.

  • New Business: Introduction of new Task Statements by the Coast Guard:

    • Cyber Security on the U.S. OCS;

    • Offshore Well Intervention Vessel Operations, Activities, Purpose and Definition;

    • Safety of Persons Assigned to Lifeboats during Launching, Recovery and Maintenance Activities for Units working on the OCS

    • Towage of MODUs, MOUs and FOIs on the OCS.

  • Presentations and discussions on the following matters:

    • Annual Report of Coast Guard Action/Disposition on NOSAC Final Reports;

    • IADC Contractor Management and Bridging Arrangement;

    • Arctic and IMO Polar Code; and

    • Well Intervention.

  • Public comment period
